I am a freelance graphic designer based near Philadelphia, PA. I create custom, yet easy-to-edit, websites for small businesses, organizations and those with a passion to share. After I earned my master’s degree in 2007, I was disappointed to find I was perceived as “old” – with all the negative baggage this noun bestowed – and wondered what I could do to deal with, and hopefully change, this perception. As a result I found information not only about the changes I was facing, but also about how to start my own business. I also realized that the journey was important, so decided not to just ‘get through’ it as quickly as possible, but to stop and smell the roses along the way. From this I developed a website – and now this book – to help and encourage other women on their midlife journeys, and in particular to help reawaken earlier passions. In the process my web design business has grown as these same women have become customers, as their passions have in turn became their businesses.
